SECI tenders Bihar solar-plus-storage project as Actis and Atmos advance battery portfolios

Solar Energy Corporation of India issued a tender for a 120 MWac solar project paired with a 60 MW/240 MWh battery in Aurangabad district, Bihar, covering EPC work and five years of operation and maintenance. Actis agreed to acquire two Polish battery projects from DRI totaling 244 MW and 1,141 MWh, both backed by long-term capacity market contracts. Atmos Renewables selected Enerven to build the 400 MW/1.6 GWh Teebar battery in Queensland, located about 60 kilometers west of Maryborough.
SECI's Bihar tender pairs 120 MWac solar with a 60 MW/240 MWh four-hour battery in Aurangabad district. It covers design, engineering, supply, construction, testing, commissioning, and five years of O&M. The notice appeared on October 9, 2026; contract value and completion date remain undisclosed.
In Poland, Actis will buy DRI's Kozienice (112 MW/518 MWh) and Trzebinia (132 MW/623 MWh) battery schemes, totaling 244 MW/1,141 MWh. Both have 17-year inflation-linked capacity market contracts. Atmos picked Enerven for Queensland's 400 MW/1.6 GWh Teebar battery, supported by Australia's Capacity Investment Scheme, targeting commercial operation in late 2028.
These projects could strengthen grid reliability by shifting solar output into evening peaks and storing excess power. In Bihar, households and businesses may see steadier supply if the battery performs as planned, while local workers could gain construction and maintenance roles. Polish capacity contracts may support investor confidence and grid stability. Queensland's Teebar project could aid renewable integration and regional employment. Actual effects will depend on costs, execution, and how benefits are shared.
