HCLTech teams with Anthropic for enterprise AI expansion

HCLTech has formed a partnership with Anthropic to create a dedicated business unit aimed at speeding enterprise adoption of agentic AI. The unit will develop industry offerings powered by Anthropic’s Claude models and integrate those capabilities into certain HCLSoftware products. The companies will also provide secure testing environments and training to help clients deploy AI safely and at scale.
HCLTech's agreement with Anthropic centers on a new unit meant to move agentic AI into enterprise settings. HCLTech's services arm will create sector-specific offerings using Claude, Cowork and Claude Code, while HCLSoftware will add those capabilities to chosen products.
The partners plan a Centre of Excellence and sandbox environments for secure development. HCLSoftware, as an ISV partner, gains access to advanced models for cybersecurity, automation, business process and application development. Claude will also support IT help desks and digital employee services, with guardrails, exception handling and human review for major changes.
Enterprises and their workers could be affected as agentic AI moves into support, cybersecurity, automation and application development. Training and sandbox testing may help teams adopt these tools with more oversight, potentially improving safety and reliability. Customers might see faster service and new capabilities, while dependence on a few major AI providers may shape how much control organizations retain over critical workflows. The impact may depend on governance, human review and how broadly these systems are deployed.
