Garrett Hedlund Hints Tulsa King Season 5 Will Leave Oklahoma Behind

Paramount+ has confirmed that Tulsa King season 5 is in production and will shift the series from Oklahoma to New York City. Garrett Hedlund, who plays Mitch, said the new setting can refresh the show and expand its scope. The season will also promote Scarlet Rose Stallone to series regular and add Erik Palladino, Glenn Fleshler, Anthony Skordi, and Nickola Shreli in regular roles.
Paramount+ has already put Tulsa King season 5 into production, with the story relocating from Oklahoma to New York City. Season 4 finds Dwight Manfredi beginning to enjoy his success as a legitimate businessman, launching Montague Distillery with his friends and crew. Returning cast includes Martin Starr, Jay Will, Garrett Hedlund, Neal McDonough, Dana Delany, and Frank Grillo.
Hedlund, who plays Mitch, confirmed his continued involvement and welcomed the move. He noted that Terence Winter, the show’s head writer, previously worked on The Sopranos, Boardwalk Empire, and The Wolf of Wall Street, suggesting New York lets the series explore the criminal underworld central to its premise.
The move may affect longtime viewers who associate Tulsa King with Oklahoma, as the show’s identity shifts toward New York’s crime-world roots. New York-based crews, vendors, and local businesses could see production activity, while the added regular cast members may gain wider exposure. For Paramount+, the relocation could refresh interest in a mature series, though it may also risk alienating fans who preferred the Oklahoma setting.
