Apple’s Festive AirPods 5 Edition Leans Into Indian Localization

Apple released a Special Edition AirPods 5 with a Wireless Charging Case that has a festive Rangoli engraving, priced at ₹17,900 in India and sold only through Apple’s own retail channels while stock lasts. The model uses the same hardware as the standard Wireless Charging Case version, making the launch mainly a localization effort. Apple’s Diwali promotion offers instant cashback and no-cost EMI options, and its iPad Rangoli drawing session will expand to selected markets including the US, Canada, Malaysia, and Singapore.
Apple’s limited edition keeps the same internal specifications as the standard AirPods 5 with Wireless Charging Case, so the ₹17,900 price matches the regular version rather than reflecting new audio hardware. The regular AirPods 5 starts lower, at ₹14,900, while the charging-case model remains the higher configuration.
The Diwali effort also includes up to ₹15,000 instant cashback and no-cost EMI: twelve months for selected iPhone, Mac and iPad models, six months for certain Apple Watch, AirPods and accessories. Separately, a Today at Apple rangoli drawing session, made with artist Arushi Kathuria, uses Procreate and Apple Pencil and will travel to the US, Canada, Malaysia and Singapore.
This localized release may appeal to Indian shoppers who value festive design and Apple’s retail exclusivity, potentially strengthening brand affinity during Diwali. The cashback and EMI offers could make premium devices more accessible to some buyers, though they mainly benefit those already considering Apple products. The rangoli session’s expansion may expose international participants to Indian artistic traditions, while limited stock could create urgency and resale interest. Overall, impact likely remains cultural and commercial rather than changing the gadgets’ core technology.
