No Man's Sky Expands to iPhone and iPad

No Man's Sky is set to launch on iPhone and iPad later this month, turning a previous joke into an actual release. The port arrives roughly ten years after the game's original launch and continues its history of expanding to new platforms.
No Man's Sky first arrived about a decade ago and overcame a difficult debut as Hello Games kept refining it. Even with another project in development, the studio has continued adding features, including a gravity gun, creature collection, raid-style content, and expanded deep-space and endgame systems.
Sean Murray has now confirmed an iPhone and iPad version through Apple’s App Store. Pre-orders opened today, with release set for Wednesday, October 28. The idea reportedly began after the Mac announcement, when a team member suggested an iPhone version; Murray doubted it until trying it. The game’s scale includes 256 galaxies and roughly 18 quintillion planets.
The port could bring a vast, long-running space game to people who primarily play on phones and tablets, potentially widening its audience beyond console and PC owners. It may also encourage more ambitious mobile releases, though technical demands could shape how accessible it feels. Existing fans may gain a portable way to explore, while developers might watch whether such a complex title can succeed on Apple devices.
