CrossWorlds Digital Deluxe Owners Must Pay Again For Year Two Content

Sega has outlined a second year of content for Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds, including crossovers with Sanrio and Final Fantasy 7. Players who bought the original Digital Deluxe Edition are upset because the new season pass is not included, despite earlier marketing promising all future paid DLC. The backlash has led to a community note on the promotional post.
Sega's year-two plan for Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds includes a Sanrio team-up bringing Hello Kitty and companions, a Final Fantasy VII collaboration expected to feature Cloud, Tifa, and a Midgar course, plus a bigger Persona crossover and vehicle skins modeled after classic Sega hardware such as the Genesis and Dreamcast. Access to all of it requires either the $29.99 second season pass or the $59.99 Year Two Digital Deluxe Edition.
The dispute centers on the original Digital Deluxe Edition, which Sega advertised as covering every future paid add-on. That promotional post remains visible. Fans have responded by adding a community note to the year-two announcement, and some have argued existing owners should at least receive a discount. TheGamer contacted Sega for comment and had not received a reply at publication.
