Mark Ingram Marks 25 Years With Miniature 'Wave' Gown Sculpture

Mark Ingram commissioned Vero Studio to create a 15-inch resin plaster bust of his 'Wave' wedding gown for his 25th anniversary. The sculpture, unveiled during New York Bridal Fashion Week, will be displayed on a bronze pedestal at his Madison Avenue salon. Ingram chose the popular silhouette for its depth and hopes the piece introduces clients to Vero Studio's bridal miniature service.
The Wave silhouette first appeared in Ingram’s fall 2024 collection. It combines a crumb-catcher bodice, Mikado ruffles, and a voluminous ball skirt. The 15-inch resin plaster bust was revealed during New York Bridal Fashion Week and is meant for the Madison Avenue salon, where it will rest on a bronze pedestal.
Vero Studio, started this year by Madilyn Ontiveros Plumlee, a Stanford engineering graduate and former venture capitalist, focuses on bridal miniatures. Commissions use detailed imaging before a precisely made three-dimensional model is completed manually. The cost is $2,200, close to the national average for an actual wedding gown. Plumlee also visited the FIT Museum’s “Doll Dressing” exhibition.
This collaboration may encourage brides and designers to treat wedding dresses as displayable art rather than stored keepsakes. Clients visiting Ingram’s salon could discover miniature commissions, potentially expanding Vero Studio’s niche service. The $2,200 price point may limit access, however, so its broader social reach could remain concentrated among luxury bridal consumers. Museums and fashion audiences might also pay closer attention to doll-scale garments, especially amid New York’s current doll-dressing moment.
