EJAE Celebrated at Gyopo's Chuseok Benefit for Her Music and Cultural Impact

EJAE was honored at Gyopo's 8th annual Chuseok Benefit, which was sponsored by CJ ENM and held late last month. The KPop Demon Hunters star has won Golden Globe, Grammy and Oscar awards this year for her songwriting. She said she was proud to celebrate the Korean diaspora and the ways it stays connected to its culture.
EJAE received recognition at Gyopo’s eighth Chuseok Benefit, presented with support from CJ ENM and staged late last month. The event took place at the private home of Gyopo board member Ann Soh Woods and drew guests from art, design, entertainment, and fashion, among them Anicka Yi, Carol Lim, Dumbfoundead, Jon Moon, Audrey Nuna, and Kevin Woo.
Chuseok, a Korean harvest-moon holiday observed in early autumn, traditionally marks a time for gathering. Gyopo executive director Yoon Ju Ellie Lee praised EJAE’s artistry, calling her path one of persistence and courage and noting how her diasporic Korean perspective has connected with audiences worldwide.
This honor may amplify conversations about Korean diaspora identity within mainstream entertainment, potentially benefiting artists and audiences who rarely see such experiences centered. EJAE’s visibility could encourage younger listeners to view cultural connection as a creative strength. The benefit’s cross-industry guest list may also strengthen ties among music, film, fashion, and art communities, while drawing more attention to Chuseok-centered cultural events. Its actual social reach, however, may depend on how widely the honoree’s story and the organization’s work continue to circulate.
