Mick Gordon plans two-year global tour for Doom soundtracks

Mick Gordon, the composer behind the recent Doom games, is preparing a two-year series of live concerts. The performances will present the Doom soundtrack with a live band, an orchestra, and his custom-built Doom instrument. He is already set for Manchester's RADAR Festival in summer 2027 and the Czech Republic's Brutal Assault Festival.
Mick Gordon, composer for the recent Doom games, is extending his live plans beyond early festival bookings. Manchester's RADAR Festival, set for late July to early August 2027, named him its first headliner, with his custom Doom instrument, a live band, and an orchestra. He was later added to Czech Republic's Brutal Assault that August, alongside Knocked Loose and Children Of Bodom.
In an IGN interview, Gordon said European metal festivals approached him after RADAR. He and his agency are considering a two-year tour of the Doom 2016 and Doom Eternal scores, with more global dates expected. He called the music physical and instinctive, saying drums and groove drive the game's momentum.
This tour could broaden the audience for video-game music by placing Doom's score in metal and orchestral festival settings. Fans of the games and heavy music may gain a rare shared live experience, while promoters and host cities could see increased attendance and spending. It may also encourage more game composers to pursue large-scale concert performances, though the scale of that effect remains uncertain.
