ProSense Cryoablation Shows High Response Rates in Breast Cancer at European Meeting

IceCure Medical said its ProSense breast cancer cryoablation technology was featured in multiple sessions at the EUSOBI 2026 annual meeting. Twelve-month data showed tumor response rates of 97.5% in 40 patients treated with cryoablation plus endocrine therapy and 91.7% in 24 patients treated with cryoablation alone. The company also hosted two workshops and presented posters on imaging and outcomes after the procedure.
IceCure Medical reported that its ProSense system was highlighted at EUSOBI 2026 in Maastricht. Twelve-month results showed objective responses in 97.5% of 40 patients receiving cryoablation with endocrine therapy and 91.7% of 24 patients receiving cryoablation alone.
The meeting included two scientific sessions, two workshops with roughly 70 attendees each, and posters from Romania and Florence. ProSense uses liquid nitrogen to freeze and destroy benign or cancerous tumors, offering a less invasive option than surgical removal, with breast, kidney, bone, and lung among its focus areas.
If these early results hold, patients with breast tumors—especially older or surgery-ineligible individuals—may gain a less invasive treatment option, potentially reducing recovery burden and expanding choices. Clinicians and health systems could see shifts in breast care pathways, though adoption may depend on longer-term evidence, access, training, and cost.
