JetBlue to Launch Daily Fort Lauderdale–Cali Route in Mid-October

JetBlue plans daily nonstop service between Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport and Cali, Colombia, beginning October 15, 2026, pending government approval. The route would become JetBlue's fourth Colombian destination, alongside Barranquilla, Medellín, and Cartagena. As of October 13, flight times and approval status had not been announced, and one-way fares from Fort Lauderdale to Cali started at $139 for November.
Cali is Colombia’s third-largest city and is known as a salsa hub. The airline first signaled the route in May, according to Colombian outlets El Universal and Minuto60. Its July 9 schedule listed one daily flight from Oct. 15, with a note that Colombian routes needed government approval.
An Oct. 1 update, issued as Barranquilla service began, said Cali would start later that month and become JetBlue’s fourth Colombian city. JetBlue has flown daily Fort Lauderdale–Barranquilla since Oct. 1 and also serves Medellín and Cartagena. By Oct. 13, times and approval status remained unannounced; November one-ways began at $139.
If launched, the route could give South Florida travelers and Colombian diaspora easier access to Cali, potentially supporting tourism, family visits, and small business ties. It may also increase competition and lower fares on indirect routes. However, security advisories for Colombia and parts of Valle del Cauca could temper demand. Local Cali businesses and hospitality providers may see modest gains, while airport communities around Fort Lauderdale could experience more traffic and economic activity.
