Elderbrook Joins Counter Records and Sets January Album Heart on a Wire
Elderbrook has signed with Counter Records, a Ninja Tune label, and will release his fourth studio album, Heart on a Wire, on Jan. 22. The lead single, Lost in the View, came out Oct. 13. The 10-song project is described as an intimate, rock-inspired electronic album exploring childhood, identity and rediscovering wonder.
Elderbrook, an English producer, has moved to Counter Records, part of Ninja Tune. His fourth album, Heart on a Wire, arrives Jan. 22 and contains ten tracks. The first track, "Lost in the View," was released Oct. 13. The record is framed as an intimate, rock-leaning electronic work about childhood, identity, and recovering a sense of wonder.
Charlie Drinkwater created the cover art; his prior clients include Porter Robinson, Fontaines D.C., James Arthur, and Dermot Kennedy. Elderbrook's catalog features "Cola" with Camelphat and "Inner Light" with Bob Moses, which reached No. 13 on Billboard's Hot Dance/Electronic Songs chart. His 2024 album Another Touch came via Mine Recordings.
The signing may strengthen Counter Records' dance/electronic profile and give Elderbrook a larger platform through Ninja Tune. Listeners who connect with introspective electronic music could find the album's themes of childhood and identity resonant. For touring and streaming audiences, the release may also deepen engagement with his existing catalog, while industry observers may watch whether the label partnership expands his reach beyond his current fanbase.
