FISHER and Florence Arman Reach No. 1 on Dance Airplay With 'What a Life'

FISHER's 'What a Life,' featuring Florence Arman, climbed from No. 2 to No. 1 on Billboard's Dance Airplay chart dated Oct. 17. The song earned a 19% increase in plays during the Oct. 2-8 tracking week. It follows FISHER's 'Favour' with Tones and I, which topped the chart in June, and gives Arman her first Billboard chart entry and first No. 1.
FISHER’s “What a Life,” with Florence Arman, becomes his second consecutive and total Dance Airplay No. 1, rising 2-1 on the Oct. 17 chart. Released June 26 via Catch & Release, it gained 19% in plays during Oct. 2-8 tracking.
It follows “Favour” with Tones and I, FISHER’s first Dance Airplay leader, which spent one week at No. 1 on the June 6 chart. Arman earns her first Billboard chart appearance and first No. 1. The song also climbs 9-8 on the WARM Global Dance Radio chart after peaking at No. 5 in September.
The No. 1 could raise FISHER’s and Arman’s profiles, potentially expanding audiences for dance music and Arman’s future releases. Radio programmers and festival bookers may take note, while fans of dance and electronic music could see more airplay for similar collaborations. The milestone may also encourage emerging vocalists to partner with established DJs, though chart success alone does not guarantee lasting cultural change.
