Resident Evil 3 Remake Switch 2 Footage Revealed by Capcom

Capcom has released gameplay footage of Resident Evil 3 running on Nintendo Switch 2 ahead of its October 16 launch. The 2020 remake previously appeared on other platforms and as a cloud version on the original Switch. It will arrive on Switch 2 alongside Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 4, with all prior DLC included.
Capcom shared new Resident Evil 3 footage on Twitter before the Switch 2 release. The clip follows Jill Valentine through Raccoon City as she avoids Nemesis near damaged storefronts. The 2020 remake previously launched on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One; the original Switch received a cloud edition in 2022.
On October 16, Switch 2 owners can also get native versions of Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 4, with all earlier DLC. The three remakes arrive digitally first, while physical editions are planned for January and are expected to use Game-Key Cards rather than cartridges.
The native Switch 2 releases may make these horror titles easier to play for owners who lack reliable internet, while digital-first availability could affect collectors awaiting January physical editions. The use of Game-Key Cards may shape buyer expectations and reignite discussion around ownership and preservation. Capcom’s continued support could strengthen Switch 2’s library appeal for fans of mature action-horror games, though reception may depend on performance and value compared with other platforms.
