Perdue Foundation Renews Support for FFA Jacket Program

Perdue Farms is providing $20,000 through its foundation to the National FFA Organization's Give the Gift of Blue program. The funding helps cover the cost of official blue corduroy jackets for FFA members who might not otherwise afford them. The company has previously helped supply 1,059 jackets through the same initiative.
Perdue Farms announced on Oct. 13 that its foundation is renewing a grant to the National FFA Organization. The $20,000 contribution goes to Give the Gift of Blue, which supplies official jackets to members facing cost concerns. The company’s prior backing has helped place 1,059 jackets with FFA students.
The blue corduroy jacket has been an FFA tradition since 1933. It carries a member’s state and local chapter and is worn at competitions, leadership events, conventions, and other official gatherings. The grant falls under Perdue’s Delivering Hope to Our Neighbors community initiative.
This support could ease a practical cost barrier for FFA members and their families, allowing more students to take part in competitions, conventions, and leadership activities. That participation may build confidence, skills, and networks that benefit agricultural communities and the future workforce. For Perdue, the grant may also strengthen ties with the communities where its employees live and work, though the broader effect will depend on how many students the program can reach.
