Samsung Galaxy S27 prices expected to climb sharply

Reports from South Korea indicate Samsung may raise Galaxy S27 prices by roughly 100,000 to 130,000 won compared with earlier plans. Rising AI-related memory costs and Samsung’s profitability goals are cited as reasons. The S27 Ultra could approach £1,500/$1,500 for 256GB, while 1TB versions may exceed £2,000/$2,000.
A second South Korean report, from Chosun, says Samsung may lift Galaxy S27 pricing by 100,000–130,000 won versus its earlier plan. The cited causes are higher memory component costs linked to AI demand and a desire to improve device profitability, partly by using more in-house chips.
The expected increase follows a recent Galaxy S26 price adjustment: the S26, S26+, and S26 Ultra each now begin at a higher price than in March, with an £80/$100 increase. If the trend continues, the 256GB Galaxy S27 Ultra could sit just below £1,500/$1,500, while 1TB versions may approach £2,000 or exceed $2,000.
If flagship prices keep rising, some consumers may delay upgrades, choose mid-range devices, or keep current phones longer. Enthusiasts and professionals who want top storage or premium features could feel the squeeze most, while carriers and retailers may rely more on trade-ins and installment plans. The shift could make premium Android phones feel less accessible, potentially widening the gap between budget and flagship buyers.
