Juniper Green brings 150 MW Gujarat hybrid plant online
Juniper Green Energy has fully commissioned a 150 MW wind-solar hybrid project in Gujarat under a power purchase agreement with Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam. The company said its total operating capacity, including subsidiaries, now stands at about 2,745 MWp, alongside 603 MWh of battery storage. Recent additions include a 100.64 MWh BESS unit at the Bikaner Phase II site and a 75 MW wind-solar hybrid project contracted to Tata Power.
The Gujarat project pairs wind and solar generation and sells power under an agreement with Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam.
Juniper Green's operating portfolio now includes roughly 2,745 MWp and 603 MWh of battery storage across subsidiaries. In September 2026, its Cosmic arm added 100.64 MWh of storage at Bikaner Phase II, while Beam Eight brought a 75 MW hybrid project online for Tata Power.
The added hybrid capacity and storage could give Gujarat's grid more renewable electricity during varying wind and sunlight conditions, potentially improving supply reliability for households, businesses, and farmers. Local workers may see construction and maintenance opportunities, while the state utility's customers could benefit if lower-cost generation is passed through. Battery projects elsewhere may support round-the-clock power, though actual social and economic effects will depend on implementation, tariffs, and how the electricity is used.
