Parfetts rebrands as Go Local Wholesale in push for £1bn turnover

Employee-owned wholesaler Parfetts will become Go Local Wholesale from January, aligning the business with its Go Local symbol estate. The company aims to reach £1bn in turnover within two years and expand its symbol stores from over 2,000 to 3,000. Parfetts reported turnover of £807m in its latest financial year, up 10.6%, and will share a 10% staff bonus.
The wholesaler, currently known as Parfetts, will adopt the Go Local Wholesale identity in January 2027. Its symbol network already uses Go Local names, including Go Local Extra, Go Local, The Local and Shop & Go. The company runs nine depots and says another 500 symbol stores are in development.
As the UK’s sole employee-owned food and drink wholesaler, it reported £807m turnover in its most recent year, 10.6% higher than the prior period. It will distribute a 10% bonus to employees. Management also points to planned work in technology, digital services and operations during 2027.
The rebrand and expansion could affect independent retailers, wholesale staff and local shoppers. A larger Go Local network may give smaller stores more support and buying power, potentially improving product availability and pricing in some communities. Employees may benefit from the employee-owned model and bonus, though growth targets could bring operational pressure. Consumers might see more convenience outlets, but the actual impact may depend on how investment, service levels and competition evolve.
