Apple HomeView Debuts with Siri AI and Spatial Audio

Apple unveiled HomeView at its Welcome Home event as a smart display with HomePod-style features. It packs a 7-inch LCD screen, an A18 chip, Siri AI, a 12MP Center Stage camera, and Spatial Audio with Dolby Atmos. Both standard and wall-mounted versions start at Rs 39,900, with accessories sold separately.
Apple introduced HomeView during its Welcome Home event as a home display that blends a screen with audio capabilities similar to HomePod. It uses an A18 processor, supports Siri AI, and includes a 12MP ultrawide Center Stage camera plus Dolby Atmos spatial sound.
The 7-inch LCD offers 1088×1088 resolution, 220 ppi, 500 nits, True Tone, and an oleophobic coating. Buyers can choose standard or wall-mounted versions, four finishes, and optional power/connectivity accessories; pricing begins at Rs 39,900. It also recognizes six household members and detects smoke or carbon monoxide alarms.
The launch could push more households toward centralized smart-home displays, affecting families who coordinate routines, security, and entertainment. Apple's integration of Siri AI and person recognition may make voice and visual interfaces more familiar, while also raising questions about privacy and device dependence. At Rs 39,900 plus accessories, adoption may remain limited to affluent early adopters, potentially widening access gaps in connected-home conveniences.
