BT International expands Global Fabric with integrated security edge options

BT International has broadened its Global Fabric network-as-a-service offering by adding security service edge options from Cisco, Fortinet, Netskope and Zscaler. The company says the integration gives multinational clients more predictable routes for traffic tied to AI agents, cloud applications and automated workflows. According to BT, the cloud-centric design connects customers to security inspection points without relying on multiple third-party internet paths.
BT International’s Global Fabric now offers a choice of security service edge products from Cisco, Fortinet, Netskope and Zscaler. The company says this helps multinational customers deploy and scale AI agents, cloud applications and automated workflows more quickly.
The platform uses a cloud-oriented design to connect clients with security inspection points and vendor cloud environments at selected global cloud sites. BT says this can avoid the multiple third-party internet routes that traditional SSE setups may use, while extending Global Fabric’s networking, cloud and security ecosystem.
Multinational employees, customers and partners may see more consistent security checks and application performance as traffic to cloud services and AI tools is routed through integrated inspection points. This could reduce some exposure to fragmented security controls, though reliance on a few large network and security vendors may concentrate operational risk. Organizations adopting AI agents may gain predictability, but benefits depend on deployment choices and oversight.
