Pi Network Polls Users on Possible Rewards Outside Mining
A survey briefly shown in Pi's mining app asked Pioneers how they would like to be rewarded for activities beyond mining. It listed staking or locking Pi, using Pi apps, and developing applications as possible participation categories. The poll closed after reaching its sample limit, and no final reward structure was announced.
Pi Network briefly placed a “Pi Ecosystem Participation Survey” inside its mining app. It asked Pioneers to choose how they would prefer to be rewarded for ecosystem activities, naming mining, locking or staking Pi, using Pi apps, and building apps. Community account pitown89 said the poll disappeared after reaching its response cap.
The survey’s introduction said Pi was studying rewards beyond mining while aiming to increase utility. It gathered preferences before any program was finalized. The report gave no reward options, response count, timeline, or whether rewards would use Pi or something else.
If Pi moves toward rewards for staking, app use, or development, it could reshape incentives for Pioneers, builders, and app users. People may spend more time in Pi applications or lock tokens instead of only mining. Developers might gain stronger reasons to build, while observers may watch whether such rewards improve utility. Because no structure is confirmed, these effects remain uncertain and may depend on design, participation, and adoption.
