Jio's Public Listing to Begin October 21

Reliance Jio's initial public offering is scheduled to open on October 21, 2026, and close two days later. Reliance Industries submitted the Red Herring Prospectus to the Registrar of Companies in Gujarat on October 14. Anchor investors can bid from October 19, while the price range has not yet been disclosed.
Reliance Jio, India’s biggest telecom provider, is moving toward a stock-exchange debut. The entity being listed is Jio Platforms, the parent of Reliance Jio. Reliance Industries submitted the Red Herring Prospectus in Gujarat on October 14, setting the IPO window from October 21 to October 23, with anchor bidding on October 19. The price range remains undisclosed.
The offering includes a fresh issue of 27 crore shares with a face value of Rs 10. Reservations total Rs 3,000 crore: Rs 500 crore for eligible employees and up to Rs 2,500 crore for eligible Reliance Industries shareholders, including individuals and HUFs who owned shares on October 14. Jio serves over 500 million mobile users and is expanding into AI.
The listing could broaden public participation in India’s largest telecom operator, giving retail investors, employees, and existing Reliance shareholders a stake in its future. It may increase transparency and scrutiny around Jio’s strategy, including network expansion and AI services. Customers might benefit if capital raised supports better coverage or innovation, though market performance and execution risks could affect outcomes. The move may also influence how other large telecom and digital firms consider public markets.
