British Airways teams with Hoppers for Colombo route menu

British Airways is marking its new London Gatwick-to-Colombo service with a limited-time Club World menu created with the London-based Sri Lankan and South Indian restaurant group Hoppers. The offerings include yoghurt vadai, Kalupol-spiced chicken with lemon rice and beetroot curry, Pollichathu cod wrapped in banana leaf, and watalappam bread pudding. A Ceylon Pearl cocktail will also be served in the Gatwick Club Lounge, while the route begins on 23 October 2026 with three weekly winter-season flights and fares starting at £524.
Hoppers began in Soho in 2015 and received a Michelin Bib Gourmand within its first year. The group now has sites in Marylebone, King’s Cross and Shoreditch. Its partnership menu appears in Club World on the Gatwick–Colombo route from 23 October to 30 December.
The service is scheduled three times weekly. Outbound BA2045 leaves Gatwick on Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 16:40 and arrives in Colombo at 08:35 the next day. Return BA2044 is listed for Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 24 October, departing Colombo at 10:35 and reaching Gatwick at 17:00.
The route and menu may give UK travelers easier access to Sri Lanka and introduce BA business-class passengers to Sri Lankan flavors via a London restaurant brand. It could also support winter tourism and food interest in Sri Lanka, while giving Hoppers wider visibility. Effects are likely modest and seasonal, since flights operate only in winter and the menu is limited to one cabin and a fixed period.
