LG upgrades Sound Suite with DTS:X and Google Cast

LG updated its Sound Suite home theater system with DTS:X support for the H7 soundbar and Google Cast streaming. It also adds dual W7 subwoofer support and compatibility with Wi-Fi 6 GHz and 5 GHz DFS networks. LG teased a Media Connect Hub for DTS:X devices, while the software updates are rolling out regionally.
LG’s Sound Suite is a premium home theater setup: buyers can choose individual speakers, position them freely, and rely on Dolby Atmos FlexConnect to optimize performance. The H7 soundbar anchors the system.
The latest update brings DTS:X to the H7, adds Google Cast for direct music and podcast streaming, supports two W7 subwoofers, and works with Wi-Fi 6 GHz plus 5 GHz DFS channels. LG also previewed a Media Connect Hub for DTS:X sources, though it remains in development. Rollout is regional.
These updates may matter most to home theater enthusiasts and people building piecemeal audio setups, since broader DTS:X and Google Cast support could make LG’s system easier to integrate with existing content and devices. Dual subwoofer and Wi-Fi options may appeal to users with larger rooms or congested networks. However, regional rollout and the unlaunched Media Connect Hub mean benefits could arrive unevenly, and mainstream buyers may see limited immediate change.
