Texans Expect Marvin Harrison Jr. to Debut Sunday With Limited Workload
Houston Texans head coach DeMeco Ryans said wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. is expected to make his team debut Sunday against Jacksonville. Ryans added that Harrison will likely have a limited role after being acquired from Arizona on Monday for a package that included a 2027 second-round pick. Harrison previously played with Texans quarterback C.J. Stroud at Ohio State.
Houston coach DeMeco Ryans indicated Wednesday that Marvin Harrison Jr. should suit up for the first time with the Texans in Week 6 at Jacksonville. The receiver arrived via a trade from Arizona on Monday, with Houston giving up a package that featured a 2027 second-round selection.
Ryans suggested Harrison's snap count will be managed because he joined the team late. Harrison's prior connection to quarterback C.J. Stroud from Ohio State may ease his transition. With Arizona this season, he recorded five receptions on 13 targets across four games.
The debut could affect Texans fans, Jaguars followers, and fantasy football participants, who may adjust expectations around Harrison's role. A strong first showing might increase local excitement and media attention, while a quiet game could temper short-term hype. The trade may also shape broader discussions about how quickly newly acquired players can adapt and contribute in professional sports.
