Geordie Greep Issues Statement as Accuser and Ex-Bandmate Detail Alleged Assault

Geordie Greep has responded after a woman using the pseudonym Laura publicly described an alleged sexual assault in a Paste report. Laura said flyers accusing Greep of rape were distributed without her consent and stressed that she was describing sexual assault, not rape. Former touring keyboardist Cameron Campbell said he left Greep's band after hearing Laura scream and seeing her distressed, while Greep denied the rape allegation onstage and called the encounter a misunderstanding.
Laura, a pseudonym, told Paste that a person she trusted circulated rape accusations outside Greep’s Vancouver show without asking her. She rejected that wording, saying the incident was sexual assault, not rape. She said she had told the group she was in an exclusive relationship and woke on a couch to Greep kissing her before pushing him away.
Cameron Campbell, then Greep’s touring keyboardist, said he left the support group after hearing Laura scream and seeing her upset. He said other band members later confronted Greep. Greep denied rape from the stage, called the encounter a misunderstanding, and later said on Instagram he tried to kiss Laura but thought she was awake. Remaining US dates were canceled.
The allegations could affect fans, venues, and touring
