Street Fighter Movie Cast Enthusiastic About Potential Mortal Kombat Crossover

The cast of the upcoming Street Fighter film said they would be eager to appear in a crossover with Mortal Kombat. Andrew Schulz, Cody Rhodes, Eric Andre, Andrew Koji, Noah Centineo, and Callina Liang all expressed support for the idea. Koji also mentioned Marvel vs. Capcom as another crossover possibility.
The Street Fighter cast's crossover interest follows Mortal Kombat co-creator Ed Boon's May 2026 post expressing a desire for a Street Fighter guest fighter in Mortal Kombat. Mortal Kombat II had already hit theaters earlier that year, making a film mashup a natural question during press for Street Fighter, which opens October 16, 2026.
Mel Jarnson, who appears in both film franchises, addressed the logistical wrinkle. She welcomed the idea and envisioned reviving Nitara in a combined Cammy-Nitara form. Koji also raised Marvel vs. Capcom, while Centineo emphasized wanting more Street Fighter and returning to these characters.
This crossover talk may energize fans of both fighting-game film franchises, potentially boosting online discussion and ticket interest around Street Fighter's release. If a crossover ever moved forward, it could draw broader audiences to theaters and streaming, while giving actors and creators new visibility. However, rights, scheduling, and shared performers could complicate execution, so any societal effect would likely remain cultural and commercial rather than immediate.
