Baywatch Reboot Unveils First Trailer Ahead of January Premiere
The first trailer for the Baywatch reboot has been released, with Stephen Amell playing an adult Hobie Buchannon. The cast includes Jessica Belkin, Noah Beck, Livvy Dunne, Brooks Nader, Hassie Harrison, Shay Mitchell, and several actors from the original series. FOX will begin airing the show in January, with episodes available on Hulu the following day.
The reboot centers on Stephen Amell as an older Hobie Buchannon, a role Jeremy Jackson originated. Its setting remains the Southern California shoreline, with relationship storylines and dangerous rescues. The ensemble mixes established performers with online names: Jessica Belkin plays Charlie, while Noah Beck, Livvy Dunne, Brooks Nader, Hassie Harrison, and Shay Mitchell appear. Erika Eleniak, David Chokachi, Kelly Packard, and Michael Bergin return from the original show.
FOX will launch the series in January at a date still to be announced, with Hulu carrying each episode one day later. Nader’s family reality series has earned a second-season renewal, and Beck and Dunne are known mainly for their large social media followings, making their casting an experiment.
The reboot may draw nostalgic viewers while introducing younger audiences to the franchise through social-media stars. Its blend of familiar names and online personalities could shape how networks cast future series, potentially giving influencers more mainstream acting chances. Fans of the original may tune in for returning cast members, while Hulu’s next-day availability could extend reach beyond FOX. If successful, it may encourage more reboots that pair legacy appeal with digital fame; if not, it could reinforce skepticism about influencer-led acting roles.
