Banana Republic and Zankov Team for Limited-Edition Capsule

Banana Republic has collaborated with designer Henry Zankov on a 27-piece capsule for men and women, including clothing and accessories. The collection uses premium fabrics such as cashmere, wool, leather and plaid patterns, with prices from $90 to $600. It launches Tuesday and blends Banana Republic’s heritage with Zankov’s expressive use of color and texture.
Designer Henry Zankov and Banana Republic have created a limited-run collection arriving Tuesday. It spans 27 items for men and women, covering apparel and accessories. Materials include cashmere with a brushed finish, special wool yarns, leather, and patterned plaid, with relaxed cuts meant for layering and mixing. Prices range from $90 to $600.
Zankov drew on Banana Republic’s archives, reworking references such as a 1986 skirt, a 1950s car coat, and a leather bomber. Accessories feature reversible cashmere hats, socks, and scarves. The “Future Heirlooms” campaign pairs Andrew Jacobs’s photography with commissioned work by Katrien de Blauwer and a video of Zankov discussing tactile, nostalgic inspirations.
This collaboration may broaden Banana Republic’s appeal by pairing its established customer base with Zankov’s color-forward audience. Shoppers seeking distinctive but wearable pieces could see more accessible designer options, while designers may gain visibility through mainstream retail partnerships. The higher-end materials and $600 ceiling may limit access for some, but the lower $90 entry point could invite new buyers. Its success may influence how heritage brands approach future capsules and creative partnerships.
