The National Alliance for Musical Theatre's 38th Festival of New Musicals will run Oct. 22–23, 2026, at New World Stages. The gathering is restricted to industry professionals and is designed as a development showcase. Eight projects will receive 45-minute concert-style presentations across the two days.
Organizers expect hundreds of producers, presenters, artistic and executive directors, investors, donors, developers, and creative administrators from regional theater, Broadway, music, film, and television. NAMT, a nonprofit, covers Festival production costs through donations, sponsorships, and contributions. Newly announced participants include Christopher Sieber, Jordan Tyson, Alyse Alan Louis, Isabella Esler, Janine LaManna, Blaine Krauss, and Christina Sajous.
The festival may shape which new musicals gain momentum, since it puts creators and performers before producers, presenters, and investors. That could affect theater artists seeking opportunities, regional venues planning seasons, and eventually audiences who see works that emerge from the pipeline. Because the event is industry-only, its immediate social reach may be limited, but its longer-term cultural influence could extend as works move into future productions.
