Celebrities Back LGBTQ Youth for Spirit Day 2026

GLAAD has announced the lineup for its annual Spirit Day on October 15, 2026, an anti-bullying campaign supporting LGBTQ youth. Participants include Kathryn Hahn, Megan Hilty, Peppermint, Adam Lambert, Ross Mathews, and Dan Bucatinsky, among others. Planned activities include purple lighting at the Empire State Building and park clean-up and flower-planting events in New York City.
GLAAD's annual anti-bullying Spirit Day, set for Oct. 15, 2026, began in 2010. Participants wear purple, a color tied to spirit on the LGBTQ Pride flag. This year's roster includes Kathryn Hahn, Megan Hilty, Peppermint, Adam Lambert, Ross Mathews, Dan Bucatinsky, Margaret Cho, Carson Kressley, Nico Santos, and others.
Events include purple illumination of the Empire State Building on Oct. 14. On Spirit Day, GLAAD and NYC Parks plan a Washington Square Park cleanup and a Little Red Square Park flower planting with Little Red School House students. Earlier, over 50 City Council members gathered at City Hall in purple.
Spirit Day could help LGBTQ youth feel seen and supported by familiar entertainers, potentially reducing isolation. Public landmarks and city parks events may extend the message beyond online audiences, encouraging community participation. For participants and brands, involvement may signal inclusion, though impact depends on sustained action beyond one day.
