OnePlus publishes ColorOS 17 upgrade list and rollout dates

OnePlus has confirmed that existing owners will receive software updates through Oppo’s ColorOS 17 after the brand’s withdrawal from several Western markets. The company published a schedule covering phones and tablets, starting with the OnePlus 15 on 29 October and continuing into late 2026 and early 2027. Users may remain on OxygenOS, but the article says switching to ColorOS is advised for longer-term support.
OnePlus has stopped selling new devices in several Western markets, yet current owners are being directed toward Oppo’s ColorOS 17. The published timetable begins on 29 October with the OnePlus 15, followed the next day by the 15R, 13 and 13s.
Later waves cover many Nord and numbered models, plus the Open, across November and December 2026, with some N-series and Nord 4 devices arriving in early 2027. Tablets from the Pad 4 through Pad Lite are also included. OxygenOS remains optional, but ColorOS is presented as the better route for prolonged support.
The shift could affect existing OnePlus owners in Western markets most directly, as their devices move toward Oppo’s software ecosystem. A smoother update path may help them keep phones and tablets longer, while any learning curve or regional support differences could influence satisfaction, resale decisions, and trust in future purchases. The wider effect may be a clearer example of how platform consolidation shapes consumer choice after a brand retreats from a market.
