Bitcoin Slides Toward $80K as Asian Stocks and ETF Outflows Weigh

Bitcoin fell close to $80,000 as a sharp decline in Asian equities and broad technology weakness pressured crypto markets. The drop set off large derivatives liquidations, mostly among long positions, while U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs recorded net withdrawals and on-chain signals showed softer demand. Some analysts still expect the asset to recover over the longer term, with forecasts ranging from $90,000 to $175,000.
The pullback unfolded alongside a steep slump in Asian equities and broad weakness in technology shares, pushing Bitcoin close to the $80,000 level. That move set off heavy liquidations in derivatives markets, mostly hitting bullish bets.
Meanwhile, U.S. spot Bitcoin exchange-traded funds logged sizable net redemptions, and blockchain indicators suggested weaker spot interest. The asset stayed under notable cost-basis resistance. Even so, some analysts pointed to structural upgrades, wider institutional participation, and eventual economic stabilization as factors that could support a rebound, with projected ranges of $90,000 to $175,000.
A slide toward $80,000 may hit retail holders, leveraged traders, and ETF investors through margin calls and paper losses. It could also dampen crypto-related hiring, advertising, and institutional experimentation. A later rebound might restore some confidence, yet repeated volatility could keep banks, employers, and regulators cautious about deeper integration.
