Report: Apple Developing Larger HomeView Hub With Rotating Screen

Apple is reportedly working on a premium smart home hub called HomeView Max with a 9-inch display and a motorized arm that can rotate 360 degrees. The device is said to be planned for 2027 or 2028 and would sit above the standard tabletop HomeView. The moving screen could follow users for calls, media, and home monitoring.
Apple’s rumored HomeView Max would sit above the recently introduced tabletop HomeView, which has a fixed 7-inch display and is positioned for bedside or desk use. The premium model is said to pair a 9-inch panel with a motorized base, letting the screen turn a full 360 degrees.
Reports from Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman indicate the device may aim the display toward movement or voice, helping with video calls, media, and home camera viewing. It is expected in 2027 or 2028, though hardware details are still described as in development.
A rotating smart hub could make hands-free assistance feel more natural in kitchens, living rooms, and home offices, especially for people juggling calls, recipes, or camera feeds. It may also prompt discussion about camera and microphone use in shared spaces, affecting families, guests, and remote workers. If priced as a premium device, access could remain limited, so its broader social effect may depend on whether such robotic interfaces become common or stay niche.
