Strategy purchased 267 bitcoin for $22.1 million between October 12 and 18 at an average price of $82,900, bringing its holdings to 848,517 BTC. Michael Saylor expects the market to return to a bullish phase despite macroeconomic pressures on bitcoin.
Strategy's latest bitcoin purchase covered October 12–18, with 267 coins acquired at an average of $82,900, totaling $22.1 million. That lifted its reported stash to 848,517 BTC. The company funded the buy mostly by selling 140,872 MSTR common shares for about $22 million.
Separately, Strategy repurchased 1.94 million STRC preferred shares for $193.1 million and increased its digital-credit buyback authorization from $2 billion to $3 billion. Since the fourth quarter began, STRC repurchases have reached $459.2 million, versus $72.3 million spent on 851 BTC. STRC pays variable dividends, and Strategy aims to support its price below $100 par.
Strategy’s dual bitcoin purchases and STRC buybacks may shape how public companies and investors view corporate crypto treasuries. Shareholders and preferred holders could see different risk exposures: BTC volatility may affect equity sentiment, while buybacks aim to support STRC pricing. Retail crypto traders may treat the purchases as a confidence signal, though macroeconomic pressure could still drive sharp swings. The wider market may watch whether this capital allocation model influences other firms’ treasury strategies.
