Four New Steam Giveaways Join The Platform's Free-To-Keep Library

Steam is offering four new free games as of October 19, and players can keep them permanently. The lineup includes punkt, a fast-paced first-person arena shooter styled after original PlayStation visuals. The games require no special steps or limited-time claim process.
Among the four free-to-keep Steam titles, punkt is an arena-based first-person shooter with a PlayStation 1-inspired visual style, emphasizing speed, momentum, and very quick eliminations. Solstice is a story-driven indie game set in a small open world where players get five minutes before the world ends, with conversations, minigames, and optional activities such as feeding ducks.
Spencer's Spaghetti Quest, from Epitaph Games, hit 1.0 this month after a long development period, completing all levels; it combines varied mechanics and perspectives, though it differs from the developer's original vision. Coloniam is a Steam version of a long-running real-time strategy MMO originally played in browsers, with combat taking place across Earth's surface.
These free-to-keep releases could lower barriers for players curious about indie and experimental games, letting budget-conscious users build libraries without spending. Developers may gain visibility through Steam's audience, though long-term engagement and community growth remain uncertain. The mix of shooter, story-driven, level-based, and strategy titles could expose players to genres they might not otherwise try, potentially broadening tastes and supporting smaller creators.
