Egyptian solar-storage financing, US credit for Pivot, and Latin American energy investment

Infinity Power and HAU Energy obtained up to $566 million in debt for Egypt’s Nefer Minya project, which pairs 1.2 GW of solar with 600 MWh of battery storage. Pivot Energy closed a $500 million credit facility with Nuveen to expand its US solar and storage work. EDP and IFC announced $301 million in investments for a Mexican solar project and Brazilian electricity grid infrastructure.
Infinity Power and HAU Energy’s financing package for Nefer Minya reaches $566 million, with EBRD arranging $265 million, including its own funds, Bank of Jordan money and Clean Technology Fund support; DEG, FMO and Proparco add more. The Egyptian plant would combine 1.2 GW of solar with 600 MWh of storage and sell power under a 25-year agreement.
Pivot Energy’s three-year, $500 million facility from Nuveen is intended for later-stage development, equipment purchases and portfolio expansion. The ECP-backed Denver developer operates in 15 states and aims for more than 1 GW of solar and 700 MWh of storage by 2029. EDP and IFC’s $301 million package covers Mexican solar and Brazilian grid upgrades.
The Egyptian project could support power supply for many homes while reducing emissions, and construction or maintenance may create local work. Pivot’s credit could speed distributed solar in constrained US grids, potentially improving resilience for participating communities. In Latin America, the EDP-IFC package may improve service for Brazilian customers and support jobs, though actual benefits depend on delivery and local conditions.
