Ukraine reportedly hits arms facility in Moscow region

Monitoring channels said Ukrainian drones and missiles targeted the 75th Arsenal in Serpukhov overnight on Oct. 22. The site makes weapons and ammunition and repairs Russian military equipment, and it has been sanctioned by Ukraine, the U.S., and the EU. Moscow's mayor said 630 drones approached the region, most were intercepted, and two people were injured in Voronovskoye; the reports were not independently verified.
On Oct. 22, reports described an overnight strike on the 75th Arsenal in Serpukhov, outside Moscow. Russian independent outlet Astra cited witnesses who said unmanned aircraft came first, then missiles. The site is said to manufacture arms and ammunition for Russia’s military and to repair its equipment; Ukraine, the U.S., and the EU have sanctioned it.
Sergei Sobyanin, Moscow’s mayor, put the number of drones heading toward the region at 630, saying most were stopped and 163 were downed near the capital. He cited two injuries in Voronovskoye, which is administered as part of Moscow. No immediate independent confirmation was available from the Kyiv Independent. Earlier, monitoring outlet ExileNova Plus reported explosions and an alleged residential-building hit in Lipetsk.
The reported strike could heighten anxiety among residents in Moscow Oblast and nearby settlements, especially after injuries were reported in Voronovskoye. It may also disrupt output or repairs at a sanctioned defense site, potentially affecting military supply chains and workers there. Broader public discussion may focus on air-defense effectiveness and civilian risk, though details remain unverified.
