Casio’s new analogue 2500 watch arrives with a fan-made nickname

The 2500 series, scheduled for early November 2026, is Casio’s first newly designed fully analogue watch in many years. A leak from Casio’s Japanese site stirred online interest, and fans have already given the model the nickname ‘CasioNaut’ due to its visual link to a Patek Philippe classic. Its case draws on the brand’s 1980s 5000 line and the 2019 2100 family.
Casio’s 2500, due in early November 2026, marks its first wholly analogue design in decades. The case echoes the 1980s 5000 line and the 2019 2100 family’s bumper forms. A Japanese-site leak helped spark early online chatter, and enthusiasts coined “CasioNaut” because the metal version recalls a Patek Philippe classic.
The launch spans nine resin and full-metal references—Casio’s first whole collection released together—priced from £110 to £230. Positioned as a versatile everyday G-Shock with dressier cues, it fills a gap between digital and analogue-digital ranges, ahead of the brand’s 45th G-Shock anniversary in 2028.
The 2500 could broaden G-Shock’s appeal beyond digital-watch fans by offering an affordable, adaptable analogue option. Budget-conscious buyers, younger consumers, and design-minded enthusiasts may be drawn to its familiar-but-fresh styling and sub-£250 pricing. Its pre-launch nickname may also strengthen online fan communities and influence how brands engage collectors. However, any wider cultural impact will likely depend on real-world reception, availability, and whether the watch sustains interest after launch.
