AI and infrastructure startups draw over $2B in fresh venture funding

More than $2 billion in startup funding was announced in the past day, led by Flapping Airplanes’ $1 billion Series A at a $6 billion valuation, Legora’s $550 million round at an $8.8 billion valuation, and Whop’s $200 million raise at a $5.1 billion valuation. Other rounds include Peak Energy’s $108 million, Limiada’s nearly RMB 500 million, Blacksmith’s $66 million, Coherence Neuro’s $45 million, Watchtower Labs’ $35 million, and Mach9’s $34 million. The deals span AI research, legal technology, energy storage, defense software, and semiconductor manufacturing automation.
The disclosed dollar-denominated rounds totaled $2.038 billion across eight companies, with the three largest deals supplying about 86% of that sum. Flapping Airplanes raised its Series A before having a commercial product or revenue, while Sweden’s Legora focuses on legal AI and Whop operates an online business platform.
Other deals address physical and operational constraints: Peak Energy is scaling sodium-ion battery output and moving into data-center markets; Limiada automates production of semiconductors and optical components; Blacksmith targets verification costs linked to code produced by AI; Watchtower Labs develops AI-assisted planning for military logistics; Mach9 automates engineering drawings for infrastructure projects; Coherence Neuro is developing trial-stage brain implants.
The funding could speed up AI research and the infrastructure needed to support it, affecting software developers, legal teams, energy and data-center operators, defense planners, and potentially patients if neurotechnology advances. Large valuations may also influence hiring, competition, and investor expectations across startups, while concentration in a few mega-rounds may make daily funding totals volatile.
