Apple Stores Get Oversized iPhone Duo Launch Installations

Apple is installing large promotional models of the iPhone Duo at stores in New York, London, India, and Shanghai ahead of Friday's launch. The Shanghai location features five mirrored displays with illuminated edges showing the handset in different orientations. CEO John Ternus is expected to attend the Fifth Avenue store for launch day.
Apple has placed large-scale iPhone Duo marketing pieces at four flagship locations: Fifth Avenue in New York, Covent Garden in London, BKC in India, and Jing'an in Shanghai. The Shanghai plaza uses five mirrored units with lit borders, arranged to show the handset from multiple angles.
CEO John Ternus shared a preview image through Weibo and is expected at the Fifth Avenue store on launch day. Apple says walk-in stock will be limited at U.S. locations and some other countries.
The installations may turn flagship stores into photo destinations, drawing Apple fans, tourists, and local shoppers who might otherwise pass by. That could briefly boost foot traffic and social-media visibility around the launch, while also reinforcing the phone as a cultural object rather than just a product. For nearby businesses and city centers, any spillover could be modest and short-lived; for consumers, the displays may shape expectations about availability and excitement, especially where walk-in stock is limited.
