Nepal Telecom adds fiber portal; EE and Virgin Media O2 widen 5G reach

Nepal Telecom introduced an online channel for ordering fiber broadband and filing service complaints, while also enlarging its customer hotline. BT’s EE said its advanced 5G network now reaches over 80% of the UK population and aims for 99% by March 2030. Virgin Media O2 turned on standalone 5G in more Cumbrian communities, covering over 219,000 people.
Nepal Telecom’s new web channel lets subscribers use their NT mobile number to order fiber connections or log complaints, while the 198 hotline has gained more capacity. The operator also offers a 30 Mbps fiber plan at NPR 4,999, and says recent promotions have raised interest in NT Fiber.
EE’s 5G+ service passed 80% UK population coverage on 21 October after about two years of buildout, now handling over a tenth of mobile data traffic—roughly twice the prior year’s share. It targets 99% by March 2030 and plans an AI-RAN commercial trial in Birmingham in 2027. Virgin Media O2’s standalone 5G+ launch in Cumbria covers more than 219,000 residents across Carlisle, Barrow-in-Furness, Workington, Ulverston and nearby areas.
The changes could make broadband and mobile services easier to access and troubleshoot, benefiting households and small businesses that depend on reliable connectivity. In Nepal, online ordering and a larger hotline may reduce friction for new fiber users. In the UK, wider 5G coverage could support more responsive mobile applications and fixed-wireless alternatives, though actual benefits may vary with device, location and network conditions.
