Bitcoin ETFs post $635M daily outflow as BlackRock fund leads withdrawals

US spot Bitcoin ETFs saw $635 million in net outflows on October 22, based on SoSoValue data reported by Odaily. BlackRock’s IBIT led the withdrawals with $254 million, reversing a recent run of strong inflows. Cumulative net inflows since the funds launched in January 2024 remain around $57 billion to $58 billion.
On October 22, U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs recorded $635 million in net redemptions. BlackRock’s IBIT accounted for $254 million, exceeding its $235 million inflow the previous day. The other issuers together saw about $381 million leave. This followed three sessions of over $1 billion in combined inflows, including roughly $528 million on October 21, when IBIT added $235 million and Fidelity’s FBTC added $212.7 million.
Since their January 2024 launch, cumulative net inflows have reached about $57–$58 billion, while total net assets are estimated at $100–$109 billion. Around this period, Bitcoin traded between $82,000 and $85,000, and the supplied research found little direct link between these ETF flow swings and Bitcoin’s price.
The outflow may matter most to investors using ETFs for regulated Bitcoin exposure and to asset managers whose revenues depend on fund flows. A single day of redemptions could reinforce caution among retail savers and advisers, but because Bitcoin’s price stayed range-bound, broader financial stability effects may remain limited. Clearer flow trends could shape how institutions discuss crypto risk and allocation.
