A Preassembled Sauna Brings Turnkey Wellness to Hospitality Settings

Nokken has introduced a prefabricated sauna aimed at hotels and other hospitality operators. The ten-person unit arrives assembled, can be lifted into place, and may be running within a day after some site preparation. Made from certified wood, it is designed to add wellness-focused amenities with limited construction and environmental impact.
Nokken was founded in 2022 by U.K. designers Nathan Aylott and James Van Tromp, drawing on their Aylott + Van Tromp studio’s hospitality, retail activation, architecture and experiential design work. The founders saw tourism shifting roughly a decade ago toward experiences over expense, and their modular cabins aim to make nature-connected stays easier for operators.
The Super Sauna is a commercial ten-person panoramic unit 10 metres long. It arrives complete, is craned into position, connects to existing site systems and can run within a day after foundation preparation. FSC-certified timber, thermo-spruce and thermo-pine, dual steel cold plunges chilled to 3°C and an outdoor shower support the hot-cold ritual; Black and Baja editions suit different landscapes.
The arrival of turnkey saunas may make wellness amenities more accessible to mid-sized hotels and guests who might not visit dedicated spas. Operators could add revenue and differentiate with less construction disruption, while surrounding communities may see more tourism traffic and demand for local services. Because units are prefabricated and use certified timber, the approach may reduce on-site build time and material waste, though actual environmental benefits would depend on transport, energy use and site management.
