Sunsure signs solar-plus-storage supply deal with auto parts makers

Sunsure Energy has agreed to provide 21 MWp of solar power backed by batteries to SPR Auto Technologies and its subsidiary SPR Takahata Precision India. The electricity will come from Sunsure’s 81 MWp project in Mundsar, Rajasthan, under a group captive arrangement for the manufacturers’ plants. The facility is expected to produce about 35 million units a year and cut roughly 24,840 tonnes of carbon emissions annually.
Sunsure Energy will supply SPR Auto Technologies and SPR Takahata Precision India with 21 MWp of solar generation paired with battery storage. The power is tied to a group captive structure and will serve the manufacturers’ plants from an 81 MWp site in Mundsar, Rajasthan.
The arrangement is projected to deliver about 35 million renewable energy units yearly and avoid an estimated 24,840 tonnes of carbon dioxide annually. The article also notes Sunsure’s earlier October 2026 deal with Evonith Steel: 30 MWp for Wardha operations, drawing on a 120 MWp Dhule facility and expected to offset roughly 34,700 tonnes yearly.
This deal may give the auto-parts manufacturers more predictable renewable electricity and storage support, potentially helping them manage energy costs and lower reported emissions. Communities near the Rajasthan project could see indirect air-quality benefits if cleaner power displaces more carbon-intensive generation, though actual effects depend on grid operations. Workers and suppliers in solar and battery storage may see added demand, while the wider public could gain from modest annual emissions reductions.
