Certification photos hint at larger batteries for Galaxy S27 Ultra and Pro

Newly surfaced South Korean safety certification images appear to show battery packs for Samsung's Galaxy S27 Ultra and Galaxy S27 Pro. The packs are linked to model numbers SM-S958 and SM-S957 and are made by Zhuhai CosMX Power. Earlier Chinese 3C filings suggested rated capacities of 5,534 mAh and 5,087 mAh, which could translate to typical ratings around 5,700 mAh and 5,200 mAh.
The South Korean safety filing shows two battery components labeled EB-BS958DBY and EB-BS957CBY, tied to the Galaxy S27 Ultra and S27 Pro model numbers SM-S958 and SM-S957. Zhuhai CosMX Power is identified as the manufacturer. The images are low-resolution, so capacity markings are not legible.
September Chinese 3C filings had already pointed to rated capacities of 5,534 mAh and 5,087 mAh, which may correspond to advertised typical figures near 5,700 mAh and 5,200 mAh. The packs appear to use lithium-ion chemistry rather than silicon-carbon, and 60W wired charging is listed.
Consumers who keep phones longer may benefit from larger batteries, potentially fewer midday charges and slower battery degradation. Samsung’s flagship buyers and Android competitors could feel pressure to match capacity gains, though modest increases may limit environmental benefits. Repair shops and accessory makers may see gradual shifts in demand, but because charging speed appears unchanged, everyday charging habits may not change much.
