Solo Leveling Earns a Top-25 Manga Sales Spot in Japan

New Oricon sales data places the Japanese version of Solo Leveling as the 25th best-selling manga of 2025 in Japan. The article notes that this result came despite disadvantages such as higher volume prices and highlights the series' continued global growth after its anime adaptation.
Oricon’s newly released 2025 chart, issued on October 21, 2026, covers sales from November 18, 2024 through November 14, 2025 and ranks 200 titles. Within that window, the Japanese edition of Solo Leveling sold about 969,000 copies and placed 25th.
It was the only non-Japanese-origin work on the list. Four volumes (19–22) appeared during the measured period, while the series’ anime adaptation by Aniplex and A-1 Pictures helped raise its profile. Higher-priced volumes were noted as a handicap.
The result may encourage Japanese readers and retailers to give more attention to Korean comics, and could signal to publishers that anime tie-ins can help offset higher prices. It may also reassure international creators that non-Japanese works can compete in Japan’s crowded market, though one year’s ranking cannot prove a lasting shift.
