UHY Adds Whalen CPAs to Grow Central Ohio Practice

UHY has combined with Whalen CPAs, a Dublin, Ohio-based accounting firm, to strengthen its presence in Central Ohio. Whalen, founded in 1945, offers tax, audit, valuation, and advisory services to clients across several industries. The deal gives Whalen clients access to UHY's national resources and follows UHY's earlier combination with a Cincinnati firm.
UHY, based in Farmington Hills, Michigan, reported fiscal 2025 net revenue of $412.9 million and is ranked among IPA 100 firms. Whalen CPAs, headquartered in Dublin, Ohio, recorded $8.2 million in fiscal 2025 revenue and is an IPA 500 firm.
Whalen’s work covers tax, accounting, audit and assurance, valuation and advisory services for manufacturing, nonprofit, professional services, real estate, health care, construction and hospitality clients. The combination follows UHY’s prior tie-up with Cincinnati’s Flynn & Company and other additions in New York, Texas, Iowa, Tennessee and South Carolina.
The combination may affect Whalen’s Ohio clients, employees and local professional-services competitors. Clients could gain access to broader national expertise and wealth-management resources, while staff may see new career paths. Smaller firms in Central Ohio may face stronger competition for clients and talent. Because the firms serve manufacturers, nonprofits, health care providers and others, any changes in service delivery could influence local business advisory capacity, though the immediate practical effects remain uncertain.
