Baobab Studios Gains Naver Investment, Launches Multi-Platform Fantasy 'Shine'

Baobab Studios, known for its Emmy-winning animation, has received a seven-figure strategic investment from Naver Ventures, the U.S. investment arm of South Korea's Naver Corporation. The funding will support the studio's expansion across Asia and North America, with its first project being the fantasy adventure 'Shine,' co-created by Erick Oh and Madeleine Rosca. 'Shine' will launch as a webcomic on Webtoon and a graphic novel from First Second Books, with Baobab retaining rights for film, television, and gaming.
