Prime Video Lands Global Rights to AI-Made 'The Pit' Spinoff 'Çukur: Vartolu'

Prime Video has acquired worldwide rights to the Turkish AI-generated film 'Çukur: Vartolu.' The movie is a spin-off of the hit series 'Çukur,' known internationally as 'The Pit,' and is produced by Ay Yapim through its AI studio AI Yapim. AI Yapim previously released the AI-generated historical drama 'Castle Walls' on Prime Video.
Prime Video has acquired international rights to “Çukur: Vartolu,” a Turkish movie created with artificial intelligence and connected to Ay Yapim’s hit series “Çukur,” known abroad as “The Pit.” The project comes from Ay Yapim’s Singapore-based AI Yapim, the studio behind the AI historical drama “Castle Walls.”
“Castle Walls” arrived on Prime Video in August and was described as the first series produced entirely with AI to launch on a major global streamer. The new spin-off follows that release and brings the “Çukur” universe into AI-produced film.
The global release of an AI-made spin-off could accelerate debate over AI’s role in entertainment. Viewers may gain new content tied to familiar series, while actors, writers, animators, and production crews could face shifting job expectations. Turkish creators may see greater international attention, though concerns about credit, consent, and creative labor may grow. Streaming platforms could test audience appetite for AI-produced titles at scale.
